Some of the 37 member Florida Constitution Revision Commission are Red Coat Dreamers, dreaming of the day their nobility class decrees that Americans no longer possess any shred of liberty, at least when it comes to the ability to reject their tyrannical edicts, such as that the right to keep and bear arms no longer exists, except for them of course.

Fortunately, all of their proposals to include "gun control" amendments on the ballot have failed. Even if 60% of the citizens had voted "Yes" on them, you cannot use mob rule to deprive individuals of Constitutional, not to mention, fundamental human rights. In any case, the U.S. Constitution still outweighs state constitutions last time I checked.
A couple of examples of their proposed amendments: One would ban all pistol and rifles magazines that can hold more than nine rounds of ammunition, like they know best how often you should take time to reload your firearm when attacked in your own home or on the street, possibly by multiple attackers.
Another would ban all semi-automatic rifles capable of accepting any detachable magazines that can hold more than ten rounds, which would be all semi-automatic rifles capable of accepting any detachable magazine, meaning nearly all semi-automatic rifles, period. They used that clever wording on purpose in order to ban the most firearms possible.
Saying they are snakes in the grass would be an insult to innocent creatures of the field.
Talk about an ambitious gun grab! And they laugh at us when we point out the truth that they want to take away our guns. Oh, but if they let us keep manual bolt action rifles, it means they didn't really take anything away from us, to hear those opposite day tyrants tell it.
Some of the Florida CRC sponsors and co-sponsors of the various liberty-trampling amendments are traitors Hank Coxe, Sherry Plymale, Arthenia Joyner, Frank Kruppenbacher, Chris Smith, and Roberto Martinez.
I was in the midst of preparing the open letter below to the CRC when I learned that all of the amendments had failed on procedural grounds, but I'll publish it here anyway so they can see where those who hold liberty dear stand on the matter, for future reference.
Dear FCRC Members,
I understand some of you are opposed to the proposed gun control amendments, and I stand in solidarity with you. Therefore, this letter is not directly addressed to you, but to the others who are in favor of the amendments.
It is rather presumptuous to assume how many rounds of ammo in a magazine or what kind of firearms citizens may need when defending themselves, their loved ones, their homes, and their state and country.
The insidious desire to diminish an honest person's capability in defending life and limb just because a very tiny percentage out of millions misuse weapons, is on its face unfair. Twice as many people are murdered by fists and feet each year than by all rifles of all types combined.
Quite frankly, any such laws are not only unconstitutional, they are evil. Any citizen that refuses to comply would be taking the moral high ground of righteous liberty.
Does the commission truly desire to put in place the conditions that could lead to great bloodshed when those who hold liberty dear simply say "No!" to such tyranny? Is that what you want?
Patriots will not stand by idly when tyranny comes knocking. When violence is used against citizens to confiscate their legally purchased and peaceably owned property, don't expect complete non-resistance.
I am asking you to vote NO on those abominable amendments to help preserve the peace, but if trouble must come, then go all the way and have the guts to pass something like the Coercive Acts of 1774 as the British did, in order to awaken the sleeping giant more than just enough to motivate them to go out and vote for Trump.
We all know the end-game of Marxists is total disarmament of the citizenry anyway. And we know the result the last time something like that was tried. Canada and Britain might still have open arms to traitors of liberty so they can regroup and try again 240 years later.
Sincerely,
Phillip Evans
